QA Analyst

The ideal candidate has an understanding of software quality development, software inspection, testing verification and validation. You will participate as a member of one or more project teams, with focus on software testing efforts and quality. You would work closely with Business Analysts, Developers and Project Managers to assess testing needs and prepare software test plans for small and large development efforts for multiple clients, defining the quality measures for success. You will provide realistic estimates for testing efforts to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of high quality software. This position requires an understanding of test planning and testing techniques for software quality assurance. You will execute approved test suites to verify the software meets quality guidelines for performance and reliability as well as identify and document software issues/bugs, posting issues to the bug-tracking software according to policy. You will also perform metrics gathering and tracking.

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills:

• Minimum four year college degree
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in quality assurance/control.
• Experience testing web and client server technologies.
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to share knowledge and learn new tasks.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong documentation and record keeping skills with attention to detail.
• Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Other Desirable Qualifications: (not required)

• Experience working on a CMM level 2+ certified team/environment/company
• Grants management experience preferred

Location: Reston, VA or Bethesda, MD with travel to Reston, VA office
