Which product is Wendy Papagjika is Altum’s chief financial officer and treasurer and heads Altum’s Finance and Accounting department. She manages all administrative and financial aspects of Altum, Inc., including financial statements, budgets, banking relationships and financing, audits, income taxes, human resources and payroll. She works hand in hand with the CEO and the Board of Directors to shape the strategy of the company. On a daily basis, she interacts with the Vice Presidents and the CEO of the company to negotiate contracts and increase the revenue and bottom line of the company. Wendy became a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) in 2007. She also is a notary in the states of Maryland and Virginia.
Wendy holds a BS in accounting and management from the University of Maryland. She passed the CPA exam at her first sitting in 1991. Prior to Altum, she began her career in public accounting while putting herself through college, and in 1992, she became the controller of Keystone Corporation, a telecommunications company. Keystone was purchased in 1995 by the owner of National Telecom, USA. Wendy was CFO of both companies from 1995 to 1998 when the telecom consortium relocated all operations to Florida. She started a public accounting firm and was very successful bringing in new business, and as her business grew, so did her new client, Altum, Inc. In 1999, Wendy Papagjika and Steve Pinchotti had many conversations about their growing firms, and in September of that year, Steve convinced her to join Altum as an employee.
Wendy is active in the community and leads Altum's charitable activities which include events for Habitat for Humanity and City Park in New Orleans, the NIH Children's Inn, the Manna Food Distribution Center and the YMCA of Reston. She and her husband and three little girls are avid beach lovers and huge fans of all things Disney. She enjoys spending weekends each summer in Delaware, takes family road trips to Florida a few times a year and loves to travel to any beach destination. As successful as she has been in her career, Wendy’s favorite role is that of Mama.
