Can Easygrants support my application volume?
Easygrants is designed to handle the most rigorous of application deadlines and can support tens of thousands of applications each year. Clients range from those with small volumes, who allow only invited applicants to access the system during the year, to those with large volumes, who accept thousands of applications each deadline.
How do my users, reviewers and staff access Easygrants?
Easygrants is a 100% web-based application. Your applicants and grantees can access Easygrants via a wide range of supported browsers on Mac, PC/Windows, and Linux systems to answer eligibility questions, fill out applications and, if awarded, submit periodic progress and financial reports. Similarly, internal or external reviewers and evaluators can use the same robust set of browser options to access Easygrants for performing peer, technical or programmatic reviews and/or for scoring and discussion during committee meetings. Your staff members will use a web browser to manage your grants, including the award process, monitoring, closeout, audit, reporting and outcomes evaluation. Because Easygrants is 100% web-based, your public users and reviewers need only their web browser and Acrobat Reader™, whereas your staff will need Acrobat Reader™ and Microsoft Office.
How is Easygrants implemented?
Easygrants either can be delivered to your organization as a stand-alone web application residing within your network or can be hosted by Altum at our secure hosting facility. Some clients who have the existing infrastructure and capabilities to host an enterprise-class web application in house choose to implement Easygrants within their networks. Because Easygrants is built on a stack of standard Microsoft technologies, maintenance for your staff is familiar and minimal. Other clients, who would rather not host the software themselves, use our hosting services. This option has the benefit of a zero maintenance solution for your organization as we take care of both software and hardware upgrades as they become available.
How easily does Easygrants integrate with other important systems in my organization?
There are a number of ways in which our customers have integrated Easygrants with other systems like CRMs, financial and accounting systems, document management systems, public websites and business intelligence applications. Often our customers use our web services, but they also easily can extract data using robust query capabilities or can use back-end database technologies like SQL Server SSIS. Because Easygrants is architected on an open platform and our clients need this valuable data in other places, systems integration is made as easy as possible.
Is Easygrants flexible enough to meet the process-specific needs of my organization?
A core capability of Easygrants is the highly configurable workflow engine that supports the entire grantmaking life cycle. You can think of the grantmaking process as a series of tasks, each of which can not only be configured to meet your specific data collection needs but also can be infinitely tailored to meet your specific workflow requirements. Do you require an eligibility pre-qualification followed by a letter of intent, which then is followed by a full application? Each of these tasks can be glued together to form a sophisticated workflow. Does your application process require third-party contributions? Tasks for these other contributors can be added into the workflow, and only when everything has been submitted will your staff need to evaluate the application.
How can I manage my grantmaking workflow?
Easygrants puts a substantial amount of system administration and configuration control into the hands of your staff. A major piece of this control is the ability to custom-tailor your workflow through the “Workflow Builder” system administration module. Here you can specify how your grantmaking should flow for each of the funding mechanisms that your organization uses. Some of your grants may be awarded using a simple process and some using a much more complex one, but either way, Easygrants can be configured to handle your needs.
