SOCIAL: Dinner at
Delhi Dhaba and Movie - An Inconvenient Truth
NOTE: This will be the last
scheduled BCIG event until September 7, 2006
As of now, we have about 12
people for the movie at 5:10 p.m. and for dinner starting between 7:00 and
7:30 p.m. at the Delhi Dhaba, (More details below.)

Suggestion for the group:
There is a free Bethesda trolley with stops near the south entrance of the NIH
campus and across the street from the Bethesda Row Theater
(http://www.bethesda.org/parking/trolleyinfo.htm);
I (a certain BCIG enthuiasist) am still campaigning to get these buses running
on biodiesel, but using them now definitely saves energy, greenhouse gas, and
parking fees!

To Those (and their guests)
Interested in participating in the BCIG Gathering on “An
Inconvenient Truth” this Thursday Evening, June 29, 2006:
Your
votes are in and the decision is that we are going to do
everything (thanks Joan!) related to Al Gore’s “An
Inconvenient Truth.” Here’s how:
1. On
your own, read the book “An Inconvenient Truth” or look at some on-line reviews
of it and the movie.

2. On
your own, watch the Charlie Rose / Al Gore interview on line.

3. On
your own, look at the not-so-positive review of Al Gore’s perspective on global
warming in the Economist as well as other reviews you can find.

4. We
will go to the
5:10 p.m.
showing of “An Inconvenient Truth” at Bethesda Row Cinema.
(Bring lots of
quarters for the parking meters!) We
will each get our own ticket to the movie and gather just behind the railing
that divides the theatre into to sections near the center seat.

5. The
movie lets out around
7:00 p.m.
at which time we will go across Woodmont Avenue to the Delhi Dhaba Indian
Restaurant (7236
Woodmont Avenue, 301-718-0008) and start with drinks and appetizers and
have the main course around
7:30 p.m.
so those who can only come to the dinner can join us. The reservation at the
Deli Dhaba will be in my name (Jim DeLeo) and if for some reason we decide the
change restaurants, I will leave word where we will be with the owner or manager
(friends of mine) of the Delhi Dhaba.

I would
like to hear from you if you plan to attend the dinner so I can make sure we
have suitable seating arrangements. Please e-mail me (jdeleo@nih.,gov)
or call me (301-496-3848).
Please do not RSVP to the BCIG
listserver!
Thanks.
