Our Methodology


Altum uses a proven development methodology that is based on the Rational Unified Process (RUP) coupled with years of experience in solidifying best practices and processes. This process has been used successfully with many of our customers.

At a high level, our methodology consists of four phases and eleven major steps:

Inception 1 The Mission is reviewed by the project team.
2 The Project Plan is created and reviewed.
Elaboration 3 Requirements are gathered, reviewed, documented and approved by the client .
4 The solution is designed and the Scope/Design Document is created.
Construction 5 The solution is developed after creating the Technical Design Document.
Transition 6 The Test Plan is drafted and reviewed by the team & client, and revised before testing begins.
7 The System Test plan is executed against the software in the Test region and issues are logged, corrected and re-tested.
8 User Acceptance Testing is performed by the client in the Test region and client approval is granted.
9 Software is deployed and confirmation test is conducted before turning the application over. Documentation is delivered (Release Notes, Test Log, etc) and a deployment follow-up with the client is conducted.
10 User and System documentation is finalized and delivered to the client.
11 Training materials are created, reviewed by the team, and tested. User training is conducted.
