Altum, Inc. announced today that it has signed a five year contract with Lytmos Corporation
Reston, VA. April 9, 2005 — Altum, Inc. announced today that it has signed a five year contract with Lytmos Corporation to embed the Altum grants tracking and reporting software, AltumQR™, into the Lytmos Investment Program Administration (IPA) service.
The Lytmos Investment Program Administration (IPA) service enables federal agencies to screen a high volume of proposals efficiently without incurring the development and full operating costs for such a feature-rich evaluation tool--and all through our user-friendly and secure Lytmos Process.
“When it came to needing a query and reporting tool, we had a choice of building our own or buying a COTS product. Altum has been doing this for 8 years, and AltumQR™ provided an “easy to use” tool at a competitive price. But for us, the final deciding factor was the great support team, who clearly are dedicated to ensuring that this solution will be effectively integrated into our existing systems.” Margaret M. (Peggy) Shults, CEO and President
“This contract demonstrates the breadth of functionality that Altum technology can provide. Rooted in the grants management community, our technology can be utilized for multiple types of reporting”, said Ken Fang, Altum’s CEO.

About Lytmos
Lytmos helps federal agencies facilitate the proposal evaluation process. There are hundreds of federal granting programs that provide billions of dollars in grants yearly. Just one of these programs is a Small Business Administration program called Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) that bestows its funding in two separate phases. In FY 2001, the program produced 3,136 Phase I awards and 1,479 Phase II awards for approximately $1.5 billion dollars.
To faithfully execute a grant program of this size, each of the ten participating federal agencies must screen the influx of proposals they receive--a daunting task, when one considers that, in total, the participating agencies received 24,000 proposals in 2002 from hopeful applicants. However, this screening effort can be streamlined with the Lytmos Process through their Investment Program Administration (IPA) service. In short, the IPA enables federal agencies to screen a high volume of proposals efficiently without incurring the development and full operating costs for such a feature-rich evaluation tool--and all through the user-friendly and secure Lytmos Process.
