Altum, Inc. Receives the National Institutes of Health Award of Merit for the Scientific Coding System (SCS) OnDemand Project

Reston, VA. January 4, 2007 - Altum, Inc. was honored to receive the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Award of Merit in recognition of the company’s significant contributions towards the initiation, management, and technical support of the Scientific Coding System OnDemand service offering. SCS OnDemand is a Software as a Service (SaaS) grants tracking and reporting system that assists NIH Institutes and Centers (ICs) in producing the statutorily required annual reports to Congress on close to $30B in grants and contracts. SCS OnDemand was created through the collaboration of nine NIH Institutes and Centers, consolidating several stove-pipe scientific coding systems into a single enterprise solution providing enormous cost savings to the participants.

Rakesh Nayak, Altum’s Federal Practice Vice President stated, “It is a true privilege to receive such a distinguished award. SCS OnDemand not only provides cost savings, but more importantly exhibits how NIH ICs have voluntarily chosen to abandon their own individual way of doing things (silo approach) and band together to improve their efficiency. The real award goes to the participating Institutes and Centers.
