Department of Health and Human Services Nominated As An Excellence.Gov Finalist
For Altum, Inc.'s SCS OnDemand

- Altum, Inc. is pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of Health and
Human Services (HHS) National Institutes of Health (NIH) has been nominated as
one of the top 20 finalists of the 2007 Industry Advisory Council’s (IAC’s)
Excellence.Gov awards for its Scientific Coding System (SCS) OnDemand system.
SCS OnDemand, developed by NIH’s Center for Information Technology (CIT) and
Altum, Inc., was chosen for its demonstrated collaboration and innovation, as
well as effectiveness, efficiency, security, privacy and cost savings. Earlier
this month, SCS OnDemand was recognized with an NIH Award of Merit in
recognition of the team’s significant contributions towards the initiation,
management, and technical support of the Scientific Coding System OnDemand
service offering.
SCS OnDemand is a grants
tracking and reporting system that assists NIH Institutes and Centers (ICs) in
producing the statutorily required annual reports to Congress on close to $30B
in grants and contracts. SCS OnDemand was created through the collaboration of
nine NIH Institutes and Centers, consolidating several stove-pipe scientific
coding systems into a single enterprise solution providing enormous cost savings
to the participants. NIH Institutes and Centers to be recognized for this
