Altum finds a new home in Reston

Reston, VA. September 23, 2003 - Altum, Inc., a rapidly growing IT company focused on the needs of the scientific and healthcare sector, relocated its corporate headquarters from Chantilly, Virginia to The Bowman House at 11718 Bowman Green Drive in Reston, Virginia. Altum will occupy 3,000 square feet in the West Wing of The Bowman House.

Ken Fang, CEO of Altum, said "We are excited to augment Altum's amazing history of growth and customer service with the intriguing history of The Bowman House. We look forward to continuing to serve our clients and community from our new location. We also look forward to exploring the synergies we have with Astute Technology." Astute Technology operates from the East Wing of The Bowman House.

Dr. Merrill of Astute Technology explains, "The Bowman House features a unique combination of historic Virginia estate and state of the art, fiber optic broadband connectivity to the Internet. Altum saw the value of this unique facility and we are looking forward to the opportunities that arise from our shared interest in healthcare, IT and education/training."

The Bowman House was the first home in Northern Virginia. In the 1940's, A.C. Bowman lived in the house and produced, "Virginia Gentleman's Whiskey" from the distillery that was on the property. In the 1960's, the house was sold to Robert E. Simon. Simon was a World War II veteran who liked the idea of the European piazza and as such, was instrumental in creating the Reston of today. Reston, named for Robert E. Simon's initials R-E-S with the English word for town T-O-N, was the one of the first planned community in the area.
