Altum announces new data analysis tools and enhanced mobile platform support for proposalCENTRAL

Reston, VA – January 24, 2017 – Altum, Inc. announced the latest major update to proposalCENTRAL, the premier grants management platform for health and biomedical research.
To enhance ad hoc reporting, Altum announced a major addition to proposalCENTRAL’s reporting and data analysis capabilities. This newest reporting tool makes a dramatic leap forward in the ease and speed of creating reports. Users create reports by simply dragging and dropping fields from proposalCENTRAL into the report; and intuitive search, filter, and format options enable the user to tailor the report. A preview option continuously updates as the user builds the report to see the results of changes in real time. Pre-packaged visualizations enable the data from the report to be graphically displayed. Reports are easily shared among grant staff or exported in a wide variety of formats such as Excel, Word, XML and PDF.

Better, easier, and faster tools for reporting, dashboards and analysis reflect the increasing pressure on grants managers to convert the data and information collected in grants management systems to knowledge that can be used to inform decisions for research portfolio investments. Dave Cooke, Chief Technology Officer at Altum, asserts “The new reporting capability responds to our clients’ demand to be able to turn the data in proposalCENTRAL into actionable insights. This latest release illustrates Altum’s continued commitment to continuous improvement of proposalCENTRAL and the ongoing modernization of the platform with the latest technology available. Altum remains dedicated to helping our clients use proposalCENTRAL to support data-driven decisions about their research portfolio.”

In addition, this latest update to proposalCENTRAL included a modernization of proposalCENTRAL’s screens for applicants and grantees which uses responsive design to optimize proposalCENTRAL for the increasing variety of mobile platforms being used to access the system. New sorting and filtering capabilities have been added to help applicants and grantees quickly find the specific funding opportunity, applicant or award they need.

Christine Smith, Customer Support Manager at Altum, Inc, adds, “While the new reporting tools and modernization of screens to support mobile platforms are the bulk of this latest release, many other smaller features and functions have been added to the platform in response to client requests. For example, many of our clients are excited about the new donor sponsor tracking capabilities also included in this release.”
