Altum, Inc., Promotes Christine Smith and Darryl Blackburn to Directors
Reston, VA – April 5, 2017 – Altum, Inc. is pleased to announce that Christine Smith has been promoted to Director of Product Operations, and Darryl Blackburn has been promoted to Director of Technology.

Christine Smith is Altum’s Director of Operations and brings over 20 years of client and product management at Big 6 accounting firms and Fortune 500 companies. During her tenure at Altum she has served in many operational capacities supporting our multiple grants management offerings. Her responsibilities have included onboarding new clients, providing ongoing product training, designing and supporting the resolution of software fixes and system enhancements. Most recently Christine served as Client Support Manager and streamlined client support functions to improve overall responsiveness and leverage knowledge across teams.
Christine is a graduate of Purdue University and University of Maryland, University College. She is a certified Project Management Professional.
Her demonstrated knowledge in operations, client management and quality assurance helps position Altum to remain responsive and proactive to the varied client requests. She loves to solve problems and find creative product solutions so clients can remain focused on their important work of providing funding to the many great research causes represented by our client portfolio.
Darryl Blackburn is Altum’s Director of Technology. In this role he oversees the technical delivery of impactful solutions throughout the company and coordinates development of innovative approaches that will transform our customer’s future capabilities.
Mr. Blackburn first caught the software development bug in 1987, and has supported commercial and government clients in the Washington, D.C. area for the past twenty years. He has led the development of software solutions on a variety of platforms and scales, and supported their operational transition to users from throughout the country and internationally.
Mr. Blackburn earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Radford University. He enjoys working at the intersection of technology, operations, and strategic forecasting, thus enabling him to understand his customer’s needs and design solutions with long-term utility.
