Altum Rises Among Inc. 5000

Altum, Inc. was selected again this year to Inc. Magazine’s Inc. 5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. This is the third year in a row that Altum has been selected to the Inc. 5000. Altum ranked 1,158 this year, 210 spots ahead of last year’s ranking.

“We are particularly pleased—but not surprised—that we have been able to maintain growth during the U.S.’ protracted economic downturn,” said Steve Pinchotti, Altum CEO. “Our products and services are designed to give organizations exactly what they need during such times: the ability to access and analyze data quickly, make informed strategic decisions, and ultimately, stay out front and in control.”

Altum offers COTS products and related services involving grants and performance management. Easygrants is the most powerful and flexible online grant making solution, with a configurable workflow that adapts to customers’ grant programs and their specific needs. proposalCENTRAL is a collaborative, web-based, grants management solution for organizations sharing similar workflows. InforPM is a fully integrated, enterprise-wide, performance management software solution.

Altum’s customer base includes foundations and public charities; biomedical research organizations; and, most predominantly, government and other public sector organizations, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This may help explain Altum’s climb up the Inc. 5000. The Government Services sector showed the biggest gain in terms of the number of companies on the list, up 33 percent from last year. More than half of these companies are based in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C; Altum is based in Reston, Virginia.

“We are forecasting nothing but continued growth as we add additional products and services that pertain to the domain expertise that we’ve earned and established,” says Pinchotti. Given Altum’s continued rise up the Inc. 5000, it’s hard to argue with him.
