Case Study

The challenge:

In the 1990s, the Alzheimer’s Association was growing dramatically, but still using a paper-based system to manage a large increase in grants. Staff needed a more efficient way to handle grants without additional employees.

Our solution:

We set up the grants management program proposalCENTRAL, which allows 5,000 volunteer reviewers in the Alzheimer’s Association scientific community to conduct online peer reviews of grant applications.

The result:

The Alzheimer’s Association significantly reduced costs – overhead rates for its grants management operation dropped, human error was reduced, and face-to-face meetings moved online.
